Grid View not working correctly on mobile devices

WP e-commerce = 3.8.11.1 – WP version = 3.6.1 – Gold Cart version = 2.9.7 – Theme = Tersus 2.0.7
In my version the responsive grid view does not work when looked at on mobile devices. It keeps the same settings as the non-responsive, which means the products stay in a 6 column grid. This makes the thumbnails and descriptive text impossible to view. What’s even stranger is that if I make my desktop browser window the same size as my smart phone it does go responsive. Stacking the products properly making them easy to view, read and select.
I have disabled all other plugins and the problem persists. I have tried using a wp default theme but this makes my product pages disappear. I have tried updating to the newer version 3.8.12.1 but it caused fatal errors on my site. I am getting very frustrated with this plugin.
I have searched the support on the getshopped site and it seems as if this error has happened for others. But none of these threads have been answered by the developers. As a paid for plugin this should be sorted out as a matter of course as mobile viewing is becoming a huge part of website development. Instead you have to buy a premium support ticket for an answer with a fault with the original product! Ridiculous! Any help would be much appreciated.
