    Hi
I am having problem getting a simple grid view to work correct.
    Server environment: Localhost on WAMP
Installed on a vanilla WP 4.6.1, with Twenty Sixteen – 1.3
    Nothing else installed.
    Simple Calendar 3.1.6

    Add new calendar,
    Grid View
    Start: This Month
    Earliest: Same as Start
    Latest: 3 months after start

Today is 28th September, so i would expect the calendar to display
    SEPTEMBER >

    Instead it displays
    AUGUST >
with all days with no events.

Clicking the > for next month, it then displays
    < OCTOBER >
with all days populated with events as expected.

Clicking < for previous month, it then displays
    SEPTEMBER >
with all days populated with events as expected,
and note, no < to get back to August now.

    Any clues?
I have tried changing the config a lot to see if it changes the display but no luck.
I have also cleared the cache, with no change to the display either.

    Thanks

  • I’m also getting exactly the same issue, WP 4.6.1 and Simple Calendar 3.1.6

Hi can you try going through this just to make sure that everything is setup correctly: https://docs.simplecalendar.io/timezone-settings/

Also, if that timezone setting is set to “Event Source” or “Site default” and still doesn’t work, try changing it to use “Custom” > (Your timezone) to see if that helps at all.

    Hi Nick,

Oddly, i’d already tried toggling between site default (it’s original setting that had worked for about a year) and event source, without success. I hadn’t tried custom but find that it does indeed fix my problem. I now get the correct month, thanks for the suggestion.

    Hi Nick

    Thanks for the suggestions.
    I tried all of them.

Unlike neobyte above, none worked for me.

I do notice however, that in WordPress/Settings/General:
    Timezone
Choose a city in the same timezone as you. LONDON
Universal time (GMT) is 2016-10-04 20:33:34. Local time is 2016-10-04 21:33:34.
This timezone is currently in daylight saving time.
Standard time begins on: 30th October 2016 2:00 am.

    In the Calendar/Grid/Advanced settings:
    Date and Time
    Timezone Site Default (Europe/London)
    Date Format
    Preview: October 4, 2016
    Separator
    @
    Time Format Site Default
    Preview: 8:36 pm

The Calendar seems to be picking up the UNIVERSAL TIME (GMT) and not LOCAL TIME.

Do you think this could be causing the problem, and if so how to workaround?

If i do the Events Settings as
    Calendar Start = TODAY
Earliest Event = Same as Start
then i can get it to start with current month OK, but clearly there will be no events in anything before today, which looks pretty silly as you get closer to end of the month.

Thanks for you help, and great plugin if i can get this to work, along with another small issue in LIST view with it not displaying “repeat” events.

The Calendar seems to be picking up the UNIVERSAL TIME (GMT) and not LOCAL TIME.

The claendar plugin does not check your local time on your PC at all, it only uses server times that are calculated by the timezone setting.

It could be possibly an issue with the Daylight savings time. We will have to look into this further though.

@ahswebservices @neobyte We had a few issues recently that we fixed but are still in beta. Could you try out our latest beta and let us know if it resolves your issue? Here’s the download link:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/q5cbw9fny6ezko0/simple-calendar-3.1.8-beta2.zip?dl=0

It is marked appropriately as a beta so you will still receive the automatic update notification when we push the official release.

Since our beta versions require a manual update process, you’ll need to deactivate and remove the existing versions of the plugins first. Just make sure you do NOT have “Delete settings” and “Erase calendar data” checked under Calendars > Settings > Advanced if you’d like to retain your data.

    Thanks!

I installed the beta and can confirm that after changing the settings back to site default the calendar now displays the correct month.

    Cheers.
