group events per year

    Goeie Namiddag Guido,

    Thanks a lot for the excellent pluggin and for its constant improvements.
    In the above mentioned page, the past-events list is getting quite long.
    I was wondering if you were thinking of adding a shortcode that would enable the user to group the events per year, which we could use on separate pages or tabs?

    Hi / Hoi,

    Does pagination work for you? Because you can set this via your dashboard (Settings > Reading). Or via a shortcode attribute:

    Example: posts_per_page=5

    So the event list does not have to be very long, when using pagination.

    But if you want to display ALL events of a certain year on the same page, you can also create event categories for each year (such as: 2015, 2016 and 2017) and create event pages for each year.

    Example: [vsel event_cat="2016"]

    Hi Guido,

    Thanks for your reply. I haven’t checked the pagination because I was focused on the date criteria. I will check out of curiosity, but most probably I will use the the category to achieve what I want. Very good idea.
