Grouped Calendars not working

Hmm..not sure what could be causing this.

What are your settings for the grouped calendar? And I just want to make sure here but you did add the calendars you wanted in the list of calendars to use for the grouped calendar correct?

I am also having an issue with the grouped cal… and yes, I added this new cal and got the calendars from the list…I tried creating the list both ways…with “categories” as well as “manual selection”… not working. Please help!! Thanks.

i just found out that it works fine when I use the manual selection instead of the category. The problem disappears with manual selection but stays the same when I switch to category selection.
So for me the problem ist solved when I stay with the manual selection… ??

Same thing I experienced, only I have spent a few hours on it to find additionally that there are 3 individual calendars that are throwing errors, causing my calendars to stop short (like 3 months out) when there are actually events till the end of time.

I can only get it to pull one calendar… the others are set up the same and won’t pull. They pulled fine before the upgrade (gcal=id”1″,”2″,”3″)

So you are adding them manually (and also tried the categories) and then using the new shortcode that is generated for the group calendar?

Temporary fix for grouped calendar issue. I found this worked for me for now.

The grouped calendar is stopping on the last event of the last calendar that appears alphabetically in the list of grouped calendars. So if you have calendars A, B, and C, the grouped display cuts off on whatever month the last event in C is, even when there are later events in calendars A or B.

So I figured out which one of my individual calendars had the furthest out event, which in my case is calendar A, with a dance in 2017. I renamed that calendar to Z and saved it. Then I deleted all the calendars in my grouped calendar and saved it. Then I added the calendars back again and saved it. This time, with B, C and Z. Everything now displays. Hopefully this helps someone having similar problems?!

Hi Nick, thanks and to answer…yes, I tried both (manually and also tried the categories) and I am using the new shortcode. Is there a way to install the old version of Google Cal until this gets resolved?
Thank you for this awesome plugin and your work…we love it and We have many members signing in to view events all over the state …we hope to get the old version back in the interim, please.

I would suggest to be very cautious because reverting may erase all of your calendars.

My issue is that is will not pull the other calendars…no matter what and they each have events that are current and to the end of time… I am not having the issue of cutting off early…It is not displaying at all. lazykins had a different issue it seemed… also I cannot rename calendars. there are various owners of each calendar…and each is named the area/city of the state, unfortunately.

And when you say it will erase the calendars… gosh, really? I know before when there were some bugs in a newer version, I went back to old for a bit and then upgraded after awhile… it was fine then…I can’t take the chance of erasing cals for sure…hmmm…

What do you think your timeline on the fix will be?

I’m experiencing the same thing. Have been testing for a few days on my personal site, and felt confident enough to get it running on my work site.

Now when I create a grouped calendar (all the individual calendars work fine – https://wellingtoncathedral.org.nz/calendar/diary-printing-services/ for example) I just get a completely blank page when viewing it – (https://wellingtoncathedral.org.nz/calendar/diaryprinting/).

When I use the shortcode to embed it in a page [calendar id=”6435″] the entire page fails to load, even though there is other content in it. https://wellingtoncathedral.org.nz/printthediary/

Very frustrating! Help!

I’ve now had a chance to go through the steps in the troubleshooting guide. There doesn’t appear to be a theme, plugin or widget conflict.

This happens even when there is only one calendar selected in the grouped calendar. For example:

is a grouped calendar, which contains only this one calendar at present:

which does seem to be working correctly.

What can I try next?

Bump. This is a major issue with the school site I manage. In v.2.4.0 I would stream multiple calendars into the widget which would then aggregate all events and display on our home page–calendars like Events, Academic, High School Sports, Jr High Sports, & Music. Now, only one calendar can be selected at a time.

This is such a huge oversight/screw-up guys & you could have warned users of the Simple shortcomings. Actually, Simple Calendar should have been a separate plugin entirely. Did you really evaluate your customer needs before doing this or are you totally inward focused over there?!
