Hi. In my store I have many ‘Grouped’ products which group together several products. The individual products are flagged as ‘Hidden’ so they do not show up in the store, they only appear as part of the grouped product. I use this instead of ‘Variable’ products due to other limitations. The grouped product does not sync with facebook, and the constituent products also do not sync because they are hidden. Is there any way for products within a visible grouped product to be manually/forced into facebook sync despite their individual ‘hidden’ status?

If I unhide the constituent products they will sync just fine – but the point is they are not visible on my site to make it clearer.

  • Hi @toofastdriving,

Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you with this!

You are correct that, currently, grouped products are not supported for the product sync. That being said, you should be able to sync the individual products still that make up a grouped product.

Since the syncing method has changed a bit recently depending on the version of the plugin you are using, would you please tell me which version of the plugin you have installed? The latest is version 2.0.1.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Hi – thanks for this. I am using the latest version – 2.0.1. Would love to know how to sync hidden products.

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi @toofastdriving,

Thank you for confirming the version of the plugin you are using!

To ensure that your products are syncing to Facebook, you can bulk “Include in Facebook sync” to set them to “Sync and Show” from your product listing page.

Would you please give that a try and let me know if that works for you?

    Thanks,

    Hi Marcus

Thanks for this, and yes it does work – so that’s great! Even before following your steps, each ‘hidden’ product already showed up as ‘Sync and show’ in my product list, so after following your steps I couldn’t see any visible change to see what hidden products were being synced and what were not. Is there any way to see which products this setting has been changed for?

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew – @toofastdriving,

Thank you for confirming that your products are now showing as expected – that’s great!

It sounds like your products may not have fully synced and that is why updating them has forced them to re-sync. To force a re-sync across all of your products, you can go to the WooCommerce > Facebook > Product Sync tab and click the “Sync Products” button.

Would you please force a re-sync of your products and let me know if that works for you?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi

It’s true the products will sync to Facebook Catalogue Manager, however they do not feed through because they are hidden. Inside Catalogue Manager you can see the issues:

    Missing or invalid information
Review why this item isn’t ready to use.
    ?
    Missing or Incorrect Data
This error may appear for up to 30 minutes after you make your updates.
    Product not visible: visibility
The product should be visible for Facebook to show it to users.

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew – @toofastdriving,

Thank you for your reply and for providing these additional details. It sounds like your products are syncing to the Facebook catalog which, for now, is what our plugin is intended to achieve.

Would you please let me know where these products are “not feeding through” to? Are they not showing on your Facebook page, or somewhere else? Are there any other details about which information is missing?

    Thanks,
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus

The issue appears to be within Instagram Shopping specifically. There are 3 sections in Catagogue Manager for ‘issues’ – Dynamic Ads, Instagram Shopping, Page Shops. The ‘hidden’ products are only an issue within Instagram Shopping as they have ‘unmet data requirements’. This only happens with products ‘hidden’ in woocommerce/wordpress.

Yes, the plugin does feed into Catalogue Manager, however the practical functionality of these hidden subsidiaries of Grouped Products does not work as it should. Sadly facebook is unlikely to be able to fix this, it is either up to the plugin, or the shop owner to unhide these products.

    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi @toofastdriving,

Thank you for confirming this for me. Currently, Instagram Shopping is not directly supported by our plugin, though work has begun to add this feature to the plugin. I can’t say exactly when this will be available, but I appreciate your feedback letting us know that this is important to you!

Our team at SkyVerge recently took over development and support for this plugin. We’re hard at work to make sure the plugin works more reliably and easily going forward!

Are there any other questions I can answer for you? Please don’t hesitate to let me know.

    Thanks,
    Marcus

Great, thanks Marcus. Instagram Shopping already works for all the other products except the ‘hidden’ ones.

    Hi Andrew,

I understand what you mean. The “missing information” is precisely part of what is being built into the plugin to help aid with the integration with Instagram Shopping. This information is currently not available or synced to your Facebook catalog.

I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you here at the moment.

    Cheers,
    Marcus

    Hey Andrew – @toofastdriving,

It has been a while since we heard from you, so I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. If you’re still experiencing issues please take a look at our documentation for more information and create a new thread if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Marcus
