I am attempting to create a subscribe option where site visitors can subscribe to only a specific blog post category. Is this plugin designed to do that? I have created “Groups” for each blog post category, but it does not appear to work that way.

Can you help me achieve this functionality using your base plugin and this plugin add-on?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • This is exactly what I want to do as well. I have four different categories and currently can only subscribe any user to all of them with the default public. I would like either remove or not list the public group and create four new groups that would be linked to each of my categories.

I’m not sure if this is possible or not, but it seems to be based on the response I’ve seen from the writer thus far. I would have to believe that someone has done it, if it is possible. Gary tried to get an answer 4 months ago, so I thought maybe I would bump this with a reply in hopes that someone responds.

    Me, too —

I installed this so I can allow people to choose which blogs they want to subscribe to. That means they need to choose a category. Can’t this do that?

The post categories that you have created, needs to be added in the Email Subscribers as ‘groups’ first.

So create all the post categories which you want as groups in Email Subscribers by following steps from here: How to Add/Update Existing Subscribers Group & Status

Then you have to create a form in Email Subscribers – Group Selector. When creating a new form, check the option ‘GROUP names to display‘. Next to that you will see all the existing groups that you have currently. You can add any of the them in the field and save the form.

After saving, you will get shortcode of the form which you can embed anywhere on your site.

Above similar steps are to be applied if you are using widget that this plugin provides.

Try it and let us know how it goes for you.
