Groups – Extension

As we use buddypress for the interaction/communication between the students of an online class we are looking for an alternative that solves these problems:

– groups (group members belong to different online courses)
– group based social walls?
– messaging to group members
– messaging to all members

Does UM have an groups extension yet?
