This is more a (probably stupid) question than a problem with your plugin.
We used to integrate Google Analytics am Google Tag Manger on our own. So, we logged in into the Tagmanager created a container and so on.
Ok, the plugin connects to our customers GA-ID from his Analytics but how is the gtag ID generated by the plugin? Are these some kind of “instant-gtag-containers” or is there an actual gtag-account with all these containers in it? Are these IDs permanent?
Sorry – we are trying to solve some cookie consent problems and understanding where these IDs come from would help uns a lot… and it′s always better to unterstand what the hell we are doing ??

    Hello @blacktent

    Thanks for your message!

Can you confirm the name of the plugin you are using for Google Tag Manager? Since there are a few out there, I cannot confirm the exact gtag details.

I’d also like to better understand your site. Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your response.

If you are using our Google Tag Manager for WooCommerce you can contact us directly by opening a ticket: https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/
