GTM: an exception for statistics cookies (category)

I have a problem with setting up a GTM tag (GA4 – Event – Ecommerce events), I need it to not run unless Complianz statistics cookies (category) are approved,
In this case it has to be set in combination with another trigger (Statistics – denied) and not approving statistics cookies is here as an exception, as explained in the guide https://complianz.io/using-exceptions-in-tag-manager-based-on-consent-status/
Unfortunately this does not work the GA4 – Event – Ecommerce events tag is triggered even if statistics cookies are not approved.

While I can’t see the current set-up of your Firing Trigger “Event – Ecommerce Events GA4” in the attached screenshots;
Instead of an exception, what you could try is the following:
– Edit your Firing Trigger “Event – Ecommerce Events GA4”
– Click the + icon next to the “Fire this trigger when an event occurs” section, to add another condition for the trigger to fire.
– Use your Statistics Cookie variable, and check if it’s value contains allowHere’s a screenshot to illustrate what I mean. You can ignore the Click ID and testEvent, as this is just an example. But I’m mainly referring to the “Cookie – Statistics” contains allow part, which you can add to your Firing Trigger to require the presence of a cookie ‘cmplz_statistics’ with value ‘allow’.
