GTM link click tracking no longer working after update to 7.7.0

    Hi

    I mainly use the plugin to show a pop up after 15 seconds on my site or if someone goes to exit. It’s been great, so thanks for your hard work in developing it!

    The pop up has one CTA and I have been successfully tracking these link clicks as event in Google Analytics (UA) using Google Tag Manager.

    After upgrading from 7.6.6 these clicks on are no longer being tracked in Google Analytics/GTM. If the same link is clicked anywhere else on the site it is tracked but not in the pop up.

    After reverting back to 7.6.6 (and not changing anything else on the site, GA or GTM) the tracking works again, so I am sure it is a change in the plug-in.

    Using the GTM Tag Assistant I can see that Link Click action isn’t firing with the latest version of the plug-in but works fine in 7.6.6

    This is an example of it working. Please could you look into this and see what the issue is?

    I hope you’re well today!

    There were no changes in recent update that would “intentionally” affect it and – unless you have used new “make entire popup CTA” option – there should be no difference at all. But it is possible that it’s a site-effect of some fix.

    Just to confirm: the only difference is Hustle version and other than this – everything remains the same on site, including GTM and popup configuration, right?

    Where can I see such popup on your site so I could take a look if there are, for example, some errors in console?

    Also, how did you set GTM for it – are you using some 3rd-party plugin or is it fully “manually” integrated by adding code to theme? How is GTM set to to track those particular clicks?

    Let us know, please, and we’ll test it on our end.
