• Hi there,

I’m trying to create a definitions log for GTM events and there are some events that didn’t fire when I ran through preview mode on my site.

If you could confirm and/ or provide a quick definition for each of the below, then that would be great.

    GTM4WP definitions

    • gtm4wp.addProductToCartEEC = Add to cart button click
    • gtm4wp.productClickEEC = Pruduct thumbnail image /link click
    • gtm4wp.removeFromCartEEC = Product removed from cart
    • gtm4wp.checkoutOptionEEC = Any suggestions???
    • gtm4wp.changeDetailViewEEC = Any suggestions???
    • gtm4wp.checkoutStepEEC = Once payment details are submitted / button clicked?
    • gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC = Order confirmation / Thank You page loaded

I’ve also set up for the product name and price to appear as part of the event in GA, but it only loads the product name and value for gtm4wp.addProductToCartEEC.
I was hoping that it would populate the details for the other events as well. Any tips on what I can do to fix it?

I followed the steps to set up the you outlined on https://gtm4wp.com/how-to-articles/how-to-setup-enhanced-ecommerce-tracking

      Event label
      ecommerce.add.products.0.name

      and
      event value
      ecommerce.add.products.0.price

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi,

    • gtm4wp.checkoutOptionEEC: Users selects a shippipng method or a payment method on the checkout page
    • gtm4wp.changeDetailViewEEC: User has selected all necessary attributes on a variable product page thus WooCommerce was able to identify the corresponding product variant
    • gtm4wp.checkoutStepEEC: User stepped through the checkout page. While loading the checkout page, the 1st step will be triggered anyway (billing info), then if any shipping field is filled in (2. step=Shipping data), then if user has selected a shopping method, and finally if user has selected a payment method.

I do not recommend spending time to populate event parameters with product data unless you would like to create special goals for any specific product. In the ecommerce report, you will see many details on the product level without the need to analyze the event reports.
