Guest author now requires email address inside post?

    Hi there,

    We noticed in the latest update that adding a guest author now requires an email address when trying to create a guest author from within a post.

    If the author is created in /admin.php?page=author-new it doesn’t require an email address.

    How do we turn off the email requirement in a post?

    Hi @paywall,

    Yes, that change was implemented in version 4.9.0. However, based on feedback like yours, we’ve reverted it. Starting with version 4.9.2, which will be released this Wednesday, you no longer need to enter an email address when adding a new guest author from within a post. Note that email addresses are still required for WordPress users.
