• Hi, I’ve googled and searched all over this forum, but i haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for.

I want to allow comments for unregistered guests on my blog, HOWEVER, I want to require an email before they can actually post a comment or reply to a comment. I don’t want the email to actually display on the site though, just to verify that it’s an actual person. That way, I have a teensy bit of control over my comments and maybe I can avoid some of the comment spam bots.

    Does that make any sense?

Is there a plugin or coding for this? Or some other alternative? I need to use the site for a english/blogging class, so I need classmates to be able to comment without registering, but I don’t want mass spam.

  • admin/settings/discussion and then tick “Comment author must fill out name and e-mail”. If you didn’t change it after you installed, it should already be ticked.
