Guests are not receiving any email notifications.
The Hotel is receiving booking notifications though.

    We’re using version 1.8.1
(I know it’s outdated, but the manager prefers this version)

strangely it only works when I fill in the hotel’s email address where the guests email should be…

    Any idea’s?
    I tried re-installing

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Weird.

Can you share a (complete) screenshot of your email settings?

Also, what do you mean for “strangely it only works when I fill in the hotel’s email address where the guests email should be”?

    Thanks for your reply,

I mean, when I try making a booking, as a guest would, and fill in the websites own email address, info@hetdomherenhuis.be, we receive the email notifications, but not with any other address, like gmail, hotmail, outlook…
So the guests are not receiving any emails on there own email address.

What happens if you change the “From” email address to admin@etc…? (instead of info@etc..)

No, doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Tried updating to the latest version of hotelier, no result.

I’m making a wild guess, but may updating the php-version help, you think? Running php 7.1 now (advised by hosting provider)

No, I don’t think the problem is related to a particular version of PHP. But to the configuration of your server. The plugin uses the native WordPress wp_mail() function. Sometimes e-mails are not sent because the data does not match the data configured on the server (different senders, etc.).

    Try installing this plugin:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/check-email/

Then go to Tools > Check Email and click on “Use custom headers”. In “Send test email to:” and in “From” put info@etc.

    thanks for the tip.
test emails are only being received by the info@…
not by any other mail addresses I tried.

    Current mail settings
    SendMail path (UNIX): /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i
    SMTP server (Windows): localhost
    SMTP port (Windows): 25
    Add X header: 1

Ok, so this is something related to your server configuration. Unfortunately, I’m not a sysadmin so I don’t have any suggestions. You should contact your host provider.

OK, thank you so much for your help,
    I really appreciate.

    keep up the good work.

    update,

    I managed to fix it.
The host apparently installed a filter that blocks outgoing emails that are sent through the system account in cPanel.
I installed a plugin “WP-Mail-SMTP” which reroutes this mailing through the existing SMTP server of the website own emailaddress.

I barely understand myself… but it seems to work.

    regards
