I am looking for the best solution for when I think is a gallery need. I have collection of scanned images from old family bibles that have had information transcribed. What I’d like to accomplish is to have an index page with the thumbnails and then, when clicking the thumbnail, go to the larger image with the transcribed information. Is this a good use for the Gallery or should i just hand code separate pages for the specific images?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be possible with Image Browser layout. However, you can use Thumbnails with Lightbox, which functions as in this video.

You can have a grid of images and the description will appear with the larger image as you click on a thumbnail.

Please let us know if you like this view and we’ll assist you with configuring it.
    Cheers!

I’ve only got three groups of scanned images with this kind of need for a large description so I think I’ll just use the built in media library and galleries. This may be overkill.

    Thanks

    Hey!

For this purpose, you can create a Thumbnails gallery using Photo Gallery and set redirection links to each of the pages were you have the Media Library images ??

This should work as you require.
    Cheers!
