Guide to translationer

Could someone please provide at step-by-step guide on working with po. mo. pot. files.
I use POEditor and everything seemed to work out fine, but I cannot make WP-Greet accept my translation (i.e. nothing happens).
Could someone help me with an easy, step by step guide on how to translate the files (how to work with the files) and then how to make it work…:-)THANKS!

Ok, let’s try:
copy wp-greet.pot to wp-greet-<isocode>.po and replace <isocode> by the isocode of the language you are going it to translate to, e.g. wp-greet-en_US.po
use poedit to translate all the phrases
do not forget to save your translations in poedit
poedit then creates a second file called wp-greet-<isocode>.mo
copy both files the .po and the .mo file to the lang folder in the wp-greet directory, e.g. wp-greet-en_US.po and wp-greet-en_US.mo
make sure your blog is running with the same language
wp-greet automatically pulls your translation in ??
that’s all
Cool!
That worked:-)
However in the input field “sender” where the sender type in hisher e-mail address, my own [email protected] is shown. How can I get rid of this?
Oh yes and one more question.
How can I make the WP-green form responsive? For the first problem I would recommend not to be logged in while testing, then your email will disappear.
If you would like to change the way the form is built for any reason, you can edit the template in the template directory.
Great Tuxlog! Of course that solved my “problem”.
However I simply cannot make your clever plugin to work…
I have followed the steps in the: https://www.tuxlog.de/wordpress/2008/wp-greet-documentation-english/
but no luck.
I am probably a moron working with this, but it would be SO great if I could make it work. This page: https://julieoestergaard.dk/wp/ecards-2/
contains the [wp-greet] shortcode.
This page: https://julieoestergaard.dk/wp/julie-kort/
contains the gallery shortcode [gallery=3].
I tried using both WP native and NGG (I have edited the index.php file as shown for a fix) but I cannot make it work. I think maybe I have missed out something – e.g. excluding the page from page list I have not fully understood.
What info might help you help me?My list of active plugins are:
Adjustly Collapse
Conditional Widgets
Contact Form 7
Easy FAQ with Expanding Text
jQuery Updater
NextGEN Gallery
POEditor
Q2W3 Fixed Widget
Really Simple CAPTCHA
Simple Lightbox
Simple Share Buttons Adder
(wp-greet)
WYSIWYG WidgetsTHANKS and MERRY X-MAX:-)
Please check if you have connected the gallery page to wp-greet. Go to admin / wp-greet/ galleries and check the page your gallery is on, than click save
And if this is not the problem, please deactivate the simple lightbox plugin and try it again and check the effect you have chosen with NGG. Some of them are not very cooperative with wp-greet. I think shutter should work.
Thanks for the quick guidance, but still no luck. The gallery connected seems to be correctly set up.
I also tried deactivating a number of the plugins, but no change.
Are there any specific settings in NGG I should be aware of?
I also tried using the WP native gallery but still I just see the form and when I click on the link below the form I get deirected to the gallery. When I click on an image it simply shows up in a lightbox but it is not linked to the WP-greet functionality.
Can you point me towards a page where your plugin works as it should, just to see its full functionality?
Maybe a clean install of WP-greet could help… I guess it is a minor tweak that blocks the functionality but I have run out of ideas by now:-(Ok tried about everything by now.
I tried changing the theme to a WP default (2013) but no change.
Could you post the full content of the index.php file for NGG so I can copy paste it into the file? You can see a demo at https://barbara-jany.de/grusskarten/uebersicht/
But anyway until your lightbox is active this maybe the problem. Maybe your theme comes with a lightbox and you will have to disable this. You find the index.php at wp-greet/patch/211_index.php
If you like to, you can send me an admin account for your website and I will have a look at it.
Hi again
My theme has a lightbox function built in but I have deactivated it… still no change.
You should have received an email with admin info for my wp page.
The pages I have tried to make wp-greet work with are:
“greet” (the shortcode) and “mycards” (the gallery). The websie is not live yet so feel free to try out a fix for me, i.e. you are welcome to create a new NG gallery with your own images etc.
Thank you very much!
I now switched from NGG 2.0.40 to nextcellent gallery 1.9.15 and it works. NGG is really buggy since v2.
I found the next problem your mail server does not allow to send the mails for security reasons so soe abuse headers are added in the mails send. You should switch to smtp mail and enter the credentials for the server in php-mailer-conf.php in the wp-greet directory or use another account.
WOW you really have worked miracles!! Excellent support.
Please let me know if I can be of any help to you – translations etc.I am however not fully confident how to make the mail changes you suggest.
I guess I need to contact my web hotel provider – maybe they can adjust the security settings:-)Ahh a wierd little thing.
I have translated the mo and po files into danish, uploaded them and look great when I access to “greet” URL directly, ex. https://www.julieoestergaard.dk/wp/greet
But when I go to the /mycards page and click on an image it the form shows up in english.I have the following files in my lang directiory og WP-greet:
wp-greet-da_DK.mo
wp-greet-da_DK.poI probably need to make the da_DK.mo and da_DK.po files to make it work. Dunno how. If you have Danish translation files would you mind sending them to me?
Sorry – now it seem to work. It was slow to adjust. Sorry:-)

Hi again.
I tried entering the data in the suggested php file:
$wpg_smtpserver=””;
//$wpg_smtpuser=””;
//$wpg_smtppass=””;But still no mails are received…
They appear in the “log” of WP-greet and no error messages show up, but it does not work. Are there any workarounds?
You write that “use another account” – is that another emailaccount you mean? Thanks!
