    Hi

The setup we’re working on is:

    WPMU on dedicated managed server.

    Site #1: (EN_GB) + English Blog

    Site #2: (CY_GB) + Welsh Blog.

Would the Guided Transfer help with Blog transfer for this setup? “Help” as in won’t need to pay twice to Transfer over to both Site?

You see, currently we have ENG/WELSH on one Post, for the sake workflow, it’d be easier to Transfer the blog into each site separately. I’m assuming there will be 2 Author accounts, same author, two accounts for both Site?

    Thanks

Guided Transfer is a service offered by WordPress.com for bloggers on the WordPress.com platform who want to move to self-hosted www.ads-software.com.

It does not move one WPMU site to another. For that, you can export/import your content from the Tools section of the blogs’ Dashboards.

    Thanks for your reply.

We wanted to transfer a WordPress.com Blog over into a bilingual WPMU installation, currently using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/multisite-language-switcher/. The question is/was: given the setup using said Plugin, would we need to buy Guided Transfer twice, given that we essentially have two Sites (as in: network & language)?

I have made several successful Imports, but we wanted to use Guided Transfer in order to preserve Users and Followers in the transfer.

As it turns out a Premium version of WordPress.com would be the most sensible option since we’d stay within the WordPress Eco-system.

I don’t think so, but then again WordPress.com is not affiliated in anyway to www.ads-software.com, so we really can’t answer questions about Guided Transfer here.

You can ask questions about WordPress.com things, like Guided Transfer, at https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
