    I am wondering if this plugin works with Gutenberg? I can’t get it to work at all, nothing shows up in the standard Gutenberg blocks.

    Yes, it should. The reference widget is in the sidebar at the document level. So if you click on a block, it changes the sidebar to block level, so you may miss it. I think it should be block level, but I’m still trying to figure out Gutenberg … at least, you should still be able to access it by switching the sidebar tab back to document.
