• I switched from Elementor to Gutenberg (+Kadence blocks) and I can build great landing pages.
Now I wish Gutenberg added an official support to columns, layouts and all the stuff that can be found in Kadence blocks.
I’m not talking about FSE here, I’m talking about the possibility to create pages, like Elementor or Divi.

Will we ever see that in Gutenberg?

  • I don’t think Elementor, Divi, etc create WordPress “pages” (or any other post type). They create full-page layouts — allowing you to fill in those layouts with content from their own editor, or WordPress’ native editor.

Which is exactly what FSE is supposed to do.

As to what goes inside those full-page layouts, Gutenberg will surely see newer and more advanced blocks in the editor… but there will always be the place for custom, pre-designed, 3rd-party blocks like Kadence, Genesis, Gutentor, etc.

Just my two cents though ??

@gappiah from what I understand, FSE is for headers and footers.
Not the content of a page.
I mean, right now if I want to create a landing page with columns, stylings, etc I can’t do it with Gutenberg unless I install Kadence blocks.

You sure can create columns and whatnot with Gutenberg, today, without Kadence Blocks. That’s the whole point: a block builder!

Kadence Blocks (and all other Gutenberg blocks) simply add additional blocks with pre-made styles and they often give advanced controls beyond what Gutenberg offers in its own blocks.
