• First of all, great plugin! Thanks so much for taking it on. I have been using RecipePress (the original) for about 10 years now. I recently updated my site, and tried out several other recipe plugins, and I don’t like them, mostly for 2 reasons –
    1) they always want you to upgrade to the premium version
    2) they don’t have custom post types and taxonomies

One thing they do have, is better Gutenberg support. That is something I would like to see come to RecipePress reloaded as well. I read that you are working on a major change. Is this part of it? In particular, I would like to turn the ingredient and instructions parts into Gutenberg blocks. If you are not already working on this, I might give it a try myself. I just don’t want to work on it if you are already planning on it.

    Hello @robfelty

Gutenberg support is something that I have been planning on for a while now and this 2.0 update was supposed to introduce it. However, I have been side-tracked by the other aspects of this update, mainly rewriting the JS logic to be less dependent on jQuery, performance and documentation.

So right now my implementation of Gutenberg is still in the exploratory stages and I would welcome anything you could do to make an attempt at it.

Thanks for the info. I will see if I can give it a go. I am also new to Gutenberg, so I won’t make any promises, but I will let you know if I get something working.
