• Hi Tobias,
Are you contemplating creating blocks for tables in Gutenberg or do you just count on your user to continue the shortcode block for displaying tables?

We are spot checking sites on staging compatibility and Table Press seems to display well after conversion.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

At the moment, I don’t have specific plans about direct integration into Gutenberg, as everything is still evolving and changing often. I’ll certainly look into offering such a block, once I find the time to look into it in more detail. For now, using the Shortcode block is probably the best, as that will continue to be supported.

Other than that, I don’t expect any real issues between TablePress and Gutenberg. The only real thing that could cause potentially problems is the integration of the “Table” button into the editor toolbar of the TinyMCE editor.

    Hey Tobias,

Any update on TablePress and Gutenberg? WordPress 4.9.8 was recently launched…

    Thank you!

    Hi Marcus,

nothing really has changed here. I don’t foresee any problems when Gutenberg comes around. TablePress will not yet offer a block in Gutenberg to show the table (so you will continue to see the Shortcode there), but that’s something that I have in mind for the future.

    Regards,
    Tobias
