Gutenberg editing issues
-
There are many things I love about Gutenberg but a few things that really frustrate me.
Something that happens fairly often is that when I’m editing a long article and I click on a paragraph to edit, Gutenberg zooms me to a totally different part of the article. I have lost data because of this because I’m expecting to start typing where I clicked and I sometimes end up screwing up another part of the article (and ending up with the dreaded message about the block crashing (I forgot the syntax). When that happens you can’t Ctrl-Z back.
Then sometimes I click near the bottom of an image or into the caption itself and Gutenberg instantly brings the entire image on screen – and pushes the caption field off the bottom of the screen.
Please stop this automatic mouse movement. I really don’t want Gutenberg to think.
When I cut & paste some text that contains a table, it doesn’t have the same left margin so I click to edit HTML and remove the table code. As soon as I take out the top few table settings, Gutenberg says it’s an error. Just a minute ago I got stuck in HTML mode and couldn’t get out.
Finally, I can’t figure out how to insert a video between paragraphs. If I use Insert Before it inserts a new block at the top of the article.
I spent an hour just now trying to post a simple article and it got so messed up I just trashed the damn thing. Sorry to complain but please help!
