Gutenberg not loading properly

  • I upgraded a customers older wordpress site to the latest version and thought I would enable gutenberg to show them the new features and better editor. When i go to edit a post, i get a basic editor page with none of the gui and sidebar. At the top it says Thank you for creating with WordPress. Version 5.1.1

    Can anyone suggest what may be wrong and why gutenberg isnt loading properly.

  • It’s possible that there is a plugin conflict, especially with plugins that interacted previously with the classic editor or are part of 3rd party page building experience.

    Install the Health & Troubleshooting plugin. Without interrupting the site for the public, this plugin empowers you to disable all plugins and activate a default theme like Twenty Seventeen. See if it’s still not loading correctly and then enable one plugin at a time, until it breaks again.
