Hello,

Had some issues with Gutenberg today and thought I should pass them along. Because I love using it when it actually works. I was not able to get in and edit or create POSTS, could work on Pages just fine, but POSTS crash repeatedly. A little bar would pop up with 3 choices. Here is the issue copy from it, once deactivated everything works fine. Miss it already!

Mine keeps crashing too.Trying to edit my first post, which is already scheduled, and it looks jacked up on the preview and I can’t get in to fix it. Is there a way to let them know that it’s got a problem?

I just checked and it has the error asking to try to attempt a recovery, copy text or copy the error.

@thenavybee I had the same issue but I was able to use the classic editor to see my post. It posted normally using that option.

Are you also using the Yoast SEO plugin?

There is a known issue with the latest version of Gutenberg and Yoast SEO that can cause this problem. Essentially, it is a minor mistake which can result in rather annoying consequences.

Yoast plans to have a fix out by Monday. You can find more information about this issue here:

In the meantime, they have a minor plugin fix there which can alleviate the issue, or you can revert to Gutenberg 3.6.2, which will also solve the problem until the Yoast plugin can be updated.

We’ve just released Yoast SEO 8.1.1 that fixes this.

Background: Gutenberg 3.7 removed a dependency that we also relied on. The bug was on our side (we should have registered our dependency ourselves) but the testing process needs improvement on both sides, we’re talking about that right now ??
