• I recently updated to the most recent version which introduced Gutenberg Editor.

I use Word 2000 to write my posts with, and then I copy and paste them into wordpress to post them.

Under Gutenberg, it removes every space at the end of a line, thereby making that word and the first word of the next line a single long word. It also removes one space from the double spaces between sentences. Though I think their standard editor has always done that.

I had to go back to the classic editor to get my posts to look correct with the words separate. This is a fairly major issue that makes Gutenberg entirely nonfunctional for me.

  • Word embeds formatting in the text when you copy/paste. You should use a plain text editor or paste/copy the text into a plain text editor before pasting in WordPress.

Yes, Word texts comes with formmatting, but this should not be an issue. It was not in 4.9. The option to paste as plain text is also removed, witch is a big step back.
This issue is a huge bug that has to be resolved urgently.
We also need a remove format button as in previous versions.
