• Hello all, I did a quick search and there were a few posts about image stretching but it was on Elementor and other tools.

I am currently working on a page which will be my homepage. I want a slideshow so I clicked on ‘slideshow’ (straightforward). Nonetheless, the images I add only cover about 50% of the whole page. I want the slide show to cover at least 90%. I tried switching image size to full size or large and to no avail.

So the question is how can I stretch the slideshow to the whole page? I add a screenshot of what I want to accomplish.

    Thank you in advance

  • Hi @yanezez,

Gutenberg does not have the Slideshow block by default. Are you using a plugin for your slideshow? If yes, please provide the name of the plugin.

If yours is a wordpress.com website, please refer to this Slideshow block documentation (Please note that this is out of www.ads-software.com support forum’s scope).
Under the Block Toolbar section of the above link, it says ‘Wide width’ and ‘Full width’ alignment support depends on the theme.

    I hope this helps!

You are right, there is no slideshow for Gutenberg. I now tried to do a normal ‘cover’ block. In the page editor, it looks ok and seems to span across the whole screen. However, when I load my site, it is still very small only encompassing half the screen.

    Which theme are you using?
The Gutenberg editor provides the Wide width and Full width alignment options that requires your theme to support them.

If your theme does not support these alignment options by default, you can add support explicitly by referring to this blog post.

    I hope this helps!

I solved it. On block editor, under global, I changed from Legacy to custome. Have no idea why this worked but it worked.

By the way, big big big thank you Kaavya for your time and help-.
