• Hi,

I have Gutenberg installed, but the settings are as follows:

I have Classic editor installed and the settings are as follows:

But yet the navigation link for the “Widgets” page under Appearance takes me to:

    https://website.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=gutenberg-widgets

This obviously shows the whole Gutenberg editor: https://i.imgur.com/3l1nSNt.png

It should be taking me to:

    https://website.com/wp-admin/widgets.php

    As for the Gutenberg editor:

This isn’t working because fields like “Custom HTML” appear blank until you click in them, then the code is overlapping the line numbers:

There is also no save button, the “Update” button in the top right does nothing… it stays greyed out all the time.

  • This is a new feature of the latest Gutenberg plugin. To remove it, you can deactivate the Gutenberg plugin. Gutenberg (an older stable version) is bundled with WordPress core and this does not have widget control (yet).
