Gutenburg – provide a “Place Feedback Here” button

    It is quite helpful, when desiring feedback, to make the process as easy and fats as possible.

    At present the user has to go to the WP site, find the plugin, go to support, and start an new topic.

    In this case, a simple “Feedback” button placed in the editor (say top right), with pop-up text saying “Place your feedback Here”, could link directly to plugin support page in a new tab, so all the user then needs to do is login and send their feedback.

    This would help to get feedback rapidly, including from those who might be less able, which means a broader sample of users is available for helping to make it as simple to use as possible.

    I can understand that developers like to use GIT because of its version handling features. But this is not a feature that most users are much interested in. The GIT service is not at the www.ads-software.com site (which it could be, but is not).

    In considering the typical user who might be thinking about joining the testing, having to learn a new site, is a deterent.
    In my case, I give feedback on many items, but if I were to do that on each item’s own website, then I wouldn’t bother due to managing all the bookmarks which would be required (especially if they don’t have feedback buttons which save all that effort).

    If developers are keen to collect feedback, then as broad a capture net as practically possible is desirable – it just depends what methods are considered to be “practical”.
