Gutenburg – Usability – layout manager menu
-
This editor is aimed at being able to adjust the layout of the pages, along with the content.
The full functionality of the layout management system may not be fully decided upon yet.
However, the usability of the UI can be started to be tested now.
So, Consider having ;
a) a layout management menu (say 4th from left at top)
b) include the “content Structure” info
c) other items which can go in this menu might include;
-
settings for automatically handling the priority of the blocks when the page is resized, or
when blocks clash or overlap,
detection of problems and suggested resolutions,
laying out “grids” (and auto ‘size to grid’),
what to do with a block if it has empty content (e.g. show an ad in its place, suggest an earlier or related article, show a place holder picture, resizes neighboring blocks),
group blocks together to be ‘moved as a whole’,
move/copy/paste block to another page or clipboard zone
any other functions that may turn out to be useful in the future
