    Hello,
I tried to set up the Gzip compression configuration on an Apache server using the Hummingbird pluggin. I get the following error :

Your server may not have the “deflate” module enabled (mod_deflate for Apache, ngx_http_gzip_module for NGINX). Contact your host. If deflate is enabled, ask why all .htaccess or nginx.conf compression rules are not being applied. If re-checking and restarting does not resolve, please check with your host or?open a support ticket.

However, when I check the site console, Gzip is active on javascript and css.
We’ve activated all the parameters on our server-side plesk.
    Thanks for your help,

    Hi @monbureaudetudes,

I hope you are doing well today!

Although Gzip is active for JavaScript and CSS files, it may not be enabled overall in your Apache server.

1-Ensure the apache2 deflate module is enabled and Apache server has been restarted.
2-If the issue still exists, it could be a problem with your .htaccess file. Apache uses this file to manage website access. In some cases, wrong rules or syntax errors could result in various issues including the one you’re facing.

If none of the above helps, your hosting provider might have enabled Brotli instead of Gzip for the compression.

Please provide us your site URL so that we can check further on this.

    Kind regards,

I, too, am having a similar problem. I recently contacted my website host and was assured that all was in order on their side. I was asked to get in touch with you. Can you help? Here’s my site URL: thekamugasachallenge.com
