    Hello,

No no… no dumb questions at all ??

The button you are looking for is called “Paragraph”. It should be a default button in your editor. It is provided by WP by default.

If you do not see it, perhaps you see only one row? If that is the case, hover over each button (starting from the right), until you see the tooltip that says “Show/Hide kitchen sink”. Click that button.

The purpose of that button is to expand/collapse row 2 of the editor.

    Hey thanks!

I actually thought you replaced this option with yours ?? For whatever reason I can’t automatically H1ed text using the button H1. I need to do it manually in HTML.

Never understood why. Maybe a plugin is creating a conflict…

    Perhaps.

Have you tried temporarily deactivating ALL of your other plugins?

You may have to manually empty your browser cache after doing so, before pages are “flushed”.

What exactly is happening? Is the button there? Do you click it, but nothing happens?

If that’s the case, then it is most likely a conflict with a plugin… or even your theme. Perhaps try switching briefly to the default ‘twentytwelve’ theme, just to check if it works there.

Just checking back to see if you made any progress.

    Hey Josh,

    Sorry for keeping you waiting.

Basically I select the text, then click on H1 or whatever and that doesn’t work. Nothing happens. I need to do it manually. I honnestly didn’t want to desactivate every plugin to check which one is in conflict with the button.

    I don’t think it’s a theme problem I am more thinking about a plugin…

Thanks for your help anyway ?? I think I will continue to do it manually from now on until I figure out which plugin causes the conflict.

Okay. Well, I hate to see you have to work like that.

Do you notice any other weird behavior on your editor screen? Like are you able to drop down the “Screen Options” menu?

What browser do you use? Most browsers have built-in “developer tools” which will show you things like javascript conflicts or other ‘interference’.

I’ll point you to a link explaining how to use it if you let me know what browser you are using.

That’s so nice of you to help! So yes I am able to drop down the menu, even the one with H1, H2 etc.

I made a discovery. If my post is planned or have been published, I can H1ed text. But if it’s not, well it just doesn’t work! Basically when I try to H1 the text :

    balbalabla

    Text H1

    It then does:

    blablabla Text H1

It puts the text just behind the rest of the paragraph!

    I absolutely don’t understand why! That’s crazy.

I am using Firefox and I have Firebug.

    Hi @puda,

Well, if anyone gets the “Patience Award”.. it is most certainly you!!

I now have some free time to begin tackling individual user issues.

The first thing I think we should do is deactivate ALL other plugins.. and test again. This will ensure no other plugin is interfering with Ultimate Tinymce.

Please give that a try, and let me know your results.

    Thanks!
