  • Hi,

Please go to Appearance > Customize > Typography, from here you can change the settings as per your need.

If you want to make the blog post title to H1, go to Appearance > Customize > Blog > Blog entries/single post. From here you can select the heading tag.

Yes but this where I get lost. In customizerand after typography, where exactly do I set up to have an H1 tag on my pages? Including my home page?

I have H1 tags on my blog posts already I hope. Can you please check?

    Hi,

You have the H2 tag on your blog pages. H1 tag on your single post pages.

Go to Appearance > Customize > Blog > Blog entries/single post. From here you can select the heading tag as H1 instead of H2.

Go to Appearance > Customize > General Options > Page Title, From here you can select the heading tag as H1 instead of H2. (This setting for all the pages)

If you want to change the heading on any particular page, you can edit the page and set that heading.

ok, with the risk of sounding like an idiot ?? But is not blog pages and single blog post pages the same thing?

And when you say select heading tag H1 instead of H2 on single post. You just wrote I had H1 on single post pages already? So now I am confused ??

And with the page title, you mean that is now set as H2? How come it is not set as H1 by default?

And final question. On my home page I have no headline in particular but a list of newest blog posts. How do I set a H1 tag on that one?

    Hi again,

So now I understand that my blog posts indeed have H1 already ??

But how do I get H1 tags on pages? And will that setting have any impact on my pages that I need to know? I wonder this since the H1 tag was not there by default :-/

Secondly. How do I add a H1 tag on my home page? That is a page that consists of my newest blog posts. Or do you recommend I leave it without an H1 tag?

    Best regards
    Ann

    Hello,

I apologize for the delay in response.

When it comes to pages, same settings apply for the Page Title (Appearance > Customize > General Options > Page Title).

Unlike blog posts, pages do not have specific (additional) title settings. If you are not using the Page Title option or you would like to add an additional title tag, you can do that by using the Heading block or widget (depending whether you’re using Gutenberg or Elementor to create the content), and assign the adequate heading tag manually (H1, H2, etc).

    Hope this helps.
If you have any other questions, please let me know

Thank you for your reply ??

So in customizer and page title, mine is set as “p”. Not sure what that means but I remember getting help with removing the text “BLOG” on my blog posts. So I think this was due to that.

Now If I want to add an H1 tag, how do I do that in gutenburg? I am not sure I understood ?? And when I go to the page edit and mark the headline, there is no option to add or change any heading tag.

Customize / Blog / Single Post – Set H1 from Heading Tag.

But again, I was instructed (by your support) to add the “p” at that option. Since I do not want the word “BLOG” to appear on my blog posts.

So with that situation, which is explained in this conversation now several times. How can I solve this so that I have H1 on pages, without having the word BLOG on my blogposts?

You mean the H2 in the title of the logo (A Younger Skin), when should it be H1?

    Thread Starter ayoungerskin

    (@ayoungerskin)

Well I had two original questions. So yes one of them was how to get a H1 on my homepage. In other words, how I could get the title of the logo (A Younger Skin) to be H1. And that should only apply on my Homepage.

The other pages (I am mostly concerned about the “about me”-page, since the other pages are just contact, disclosure etc) I would need a H1 tag too since they are missing one.
And the reason there are no H1 tag on my pages (If I understood correctly) is because I have page title option in customizer set to “p”. And the reason I have that setting is because I DO NOT want the text BLOG so show on my blog posts.

And regarding my blog posts they have H1 tags (if I understand correctly) and that is the same as the headline/page title ??

So now I just want to have my regular pages with H1 too.

The solution is no longer on modifying Ocean WP, but on Elementor. From a title inspection (A Younger Skin), which should contain the H1 header, it indicates that it was created with Elementor …

Go to Elementor settings and set H1 for the page title!

    Thread Starter ayoungerskin

    (@ayoungerskin)

Ok so that will give my home page an H1. I will fix it via Elementor.

But what about my other regular pages? I do not want the header to give the same H1 as my homepage on my other pages. On a specific page, I want the headline to be the H1. How do I make that happen?

    Best regards
    Ann

Hello, ayoungerskin! There must only be one H1 on a website page, and no more than one.

As you can see, both on your Homepage and in other pages like (Contact, About me, Categories) it contains the title (A younger Skin), that is the title of your website, and these pages already have an H1 header.

You don’t have to worry about that … It’s okay, and that’s right.
Let them know if you fix the problem …
    A happy continuation.

But I keep getting reports that my pages (all of them) are missing H1 tag.

Now I am really confused… and when it comes to my blog posts, I hope those have the correct H1 tag that is the same as the headline and site title?

    Best regards
    Ann
