• Hi,

I would like to set up a H1 on my home page as well as some other pages. Since as it is right now there are no H1 tags on any of my pages. Just on my blog posts (I hope). How can I solve this ??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Ah, A younger Skin … That’s normal, if you haven’t solved your site’s H1 title problem with Elementor yet. When you fix it, the warning will disappear.

Very correct! Remember the word (Blog) that you deleted because it was annoying to you?
Well … If you hadn’t deleted it it had had an H1 header, and all your categories had got the correct name (Category; About Me, Contacts) all with H1 headings with the name on the left or center.

You don’t have to confuse yourself! You have now set a unique header for all your pages … And they already have H1, which is the title of your website.
I am waiting to see H1 on your site title!

Thank you! But now I am even more confused :-/ Sorry about that. But I need to understand.

I have changed the tag in Elementor to be H1. So if I understand correctly my homepage now has the H1 tag “A Younger Skin” ?

But what about the other pages? Contact, about me etc. Do you mean they have the same H1 tag as my home page? Should they not have their own H1 and can’t that be the same as the headline for each page?

When it comes to my blogposts I think (And truly hope!!) that my page title is the same as the headline and that that is also the H1 for each blog post. Am I correct?
(And FYI) the blog posts do not have the header).

    Best regards
    Ann

Good job! Your homepage now has H1 as a header.
I am Italian and I use a translator … I hope you understand what I mean. We answer your question …

If you want your pages, such as (Categories; About me and Contact) to have H1 header: you should create a title for each of them, and insert it in place of (A younger Skin) of the above image.

Or, you could hide the title (A younger Skin) only on these certain pages and place the page title right below the cover image. The choice is yours…

Your articles, for example, already contain an H1, and that’s the title of the content. And you don’t have to worry about that.

Do you understand what I mean?

Ok great so now I understand a bit more ??

So my blog posts are then ok ??
Just a quick question so I understand. If I were to activate the header on the blog posts. Does that mean I would have two H1? In that case I will never activate the header of course. Just good to know.

About the pages though. Your first option you mean I should create a separate header for each of them, and put a specific H1 tag on them each? I prefer not to if that is the case.

Your second option then sounds better. So then my next questions would be how I hide the title on those pages. And don’t they already have their own page title? Isn’t for example “contact” the page title?

Here’s an example of what your (About Me) page might look like …

    See the picture!

I see you understand! Exactly … Separate! Your pages have two H1 headers right now, and that’s not good. Try to create separate titles for pages only.
On the Home page, however, it remains like this

By the way … On this page of the article there are two H1! Make this page look like the other articles, i.e. without the cover image.

    Hi again,

    1) I had forgotten to disable the header on that new blog post. But now I have. So all blog posts must from now on be without the header in order to not get double H1?

    2) You say my pages have two H1 right now? How is that possible if they had zero H1 just a few minutes ago? ?? Now I don’t understand.

And I have separate titles for my pages have I not?

    3) I saw your picture. But I would like to not change the header. I would like that long headline of my about me -page to be the H1. IS that not possible? And is that headline the page title as it is now? THat is good right?

Oh, yeah … Great job! I see that everything is ok now.

You need one last thing to do … You should make sure that your users understand which page they are referring to when they click on (Categories; About me; Contact).

If you click on one of these pages, you do not know which reference page you are on.

You have two solutions, which you could implement right away:

1 – Enter the page title under the menu. “And to do that you would have to hide (A Younger Skin) otherwise you would get two H1”.

2- Make sure that the title of the menu remains selected with a dash underneath, adding an effect. “In this case you could leave (A Younger skin) in its place.

I am sorry, I do not understand anything of that :-/ And I did not get answers to my questions? Could you please help me understand this since I am am very confused now and that is why I need those specific answers to sort things out ??

Now I have even more questions when you mention the menu and reference . But I will sort that out after ??

    Repeat the questions …

    (@ayoungerskin)

Yes sure. I updated them a little ??

    1) Just to be 100 % sure. All blog posts must from now on be without the header in order to not get double H1?

    2) You say my pages have two H1 right now? How is that possible if they had zero H1 before I added the H1 tag in the header?

And I have separate titles for my pages have I not? I mean the headlines of the pages. Are they not having a tag at all? Such as a page title tag?

    3) I saw your picture. But I would like to not change the header. I would like that long headline of my about me -page to be the H1. Is that possible? And does that mean that the H1 and the page title will be the same thing? Just as it is (I hope) with the blog posts?

    Best regards

    1) Just to be 100 % sure. All blog posts must from now on be without the header in order to not get double H1?
Reply: Correct! If you add the image, which includes your site title, your articles would have two H1s. The first would be the title of your site (A younger skin), and the second the title of your content.

    2) You say my pages have two H1 right now? How is that possible if they had zero H1 before I added the H1 tag in the header?
Reply: No. Your pages now have only one H1, both in article and in pages like (About me etc. etc.)

And I have separate titles for my pages have I not? I mean the headlines of the pages. Are they not having a tag at all? Such as a page title tag?
Reply: Page titles are separate, and must not contain tags. Tags are used to separate your content from one topic and the other and must be entered (only) for articles.

    3) I saw your picture. But I would like to not change the header. I would like that long headline of my about me -page to be the H1. Is that possible? And does that mean that the H1 and the page title will be the same thing? Just as it is (I hope) with the blog posts?
Reply: You could set (Welcome to my Anti Aging blog! – Scienced-based advice on how to get younger skin naturally) as H1: but in this case you should delete “A younger skin” of your cover image for the (About me) page .

    (@ayoungerskin)

    1) Great thank you!

    2) About your answer: Reply: Page titles are separate, and must not contain tags. Tags are used to separate your content from one topic and the other and must be entered (only) for articles.

But on my blog posts my page titles are the same as the H1, are they not?

    3) Ok got you. So if I disable the header on that post I can then make the headline a H1 tag. But how do I do that? And as in question no 2 above, then it will be the same as the page title am I right?

    Best regards
    Ann

Sure! Your blog post titles are H1 now.

Finally … It would be better when clicking on the pages (About me, Catgories etc) that the title would be displayed on the page, which in turn would contain the H1 header, and you would be affixed like that. “You wouldn’t need to make the title H1 (Welcome to my Anti Aging blog!) And you would have the correct header for every single page.

However … You have no choice but to delete in these pages (A young Skin).

The structure of each website, to be optimized for search engines, should be set as the example I have reported below. And in my opinion it would be the right thing to do! But I noticed that you want to leave (A younger Skin) on every page of your site (Categories, About me, Contact) at all costs … I don’t recommend it!

    Happy progress.

    Thank you!

But about my pages, the titles are on the pages aren’t they? The title for my about me page is “Welcome to my anti aging blog…” And for the different categories, the titles are the different categories ?? So how do you mean they are not displayed on the pages?

And if I want to make these titles H1, how do I do that?

I do want my header for my pages such as categories. But I do not need on my about me page.
