    Hello WordPress community,

I am facing an issue with my website’s home page where the “Southern Cross Group” H1 tag is appearing inside a div tag instead of being at the top of the page content above any other heading tags. My web developer has informed me that we are using “Elementor Website Builder” this cannot be fixed using the “Elementor Editor” plugin, and I am seeking assistance from the community on how to resolve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hi,

Can you disable all your experiments, please?

except for the Flex Box experiment (If you have it on your site)

    https://elementor.com/help/elementor-experiments

If it solves the issue, reactivate the ones you use.

    • Please make sure that all of your Plug-ins and Theme are updated.
    • Sometimes it isn’t obvious that there is a plugin update available. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Updates and click the Check Again button to be sure.
    • Please also regenerate the CSS via Elementor > Tools > Regenerate CSS on your WordPress Dashboard,
    • then make sure that you are clear:
    • your WordPress cache (your WordPress plugin if you have one), your server cache (if
    • you have one. In this case, you can contact your hosting provider).
    • ?Please deactivate all your plugins besides Elementor and see if it helps. If it solves the issue, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit. If it didn’t help, switch your theme (temporarily) and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for the reply, @ozyeger .
I apologize for any confusion. To clarify, I am looking to change the H1 tag on our website to <h1>Southern Cross Group</h1> as best practice from an SEO perspective. However, our developer has informed me that this is not possible with the “Elementor” plugin we are currently using.

P.S: This is our current H1 tag on our site: <h1 class=”elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default”>Southern Cross Group</h1></div>

    Hi,

We have inspected your homepage source code and this is how the HTML structure looks: https://prnt.sc/Ot1A79aXkxJT

Every time you use the Heading widget on your page, Elementor adds two wrapper divs. Respective classes are elementor-widget and elementor-widget-container. These two elements are required and used for adding stylization like paddings, backgrounds, borders, etc. The third level in the heading widget markup is an actual heading with the H tag. You can easily change the HTML tag and heading content inside the Elementor Editor: https://prnt.sc/cRPVRRZwd6dV

From the technical side, there is nothing wrong with this, and Elementor follows best practices regarding technical SEO. The actual position on the H1 tag in HTML markup is not crucial or considered a ranking factor. The important thing is to have only one H1 heading per page that describes the main subject of the page.

You will need to check with SEO experts when it comes to content SEO optimization. For reference: https://elementor.com/blog/elementor-seo/
