Hacked and Hijacked my website

  • This version of vantage, keeps hijacking my version of vantage from appthemes. Everytime I delete this version of vantage and replace it with the one I paid for from vantage. My site goes back to normal and then a few hours later it is replaced by this vantage theme. Time lossed is money lossed.

    Very sorry to hear you’ve had this issue. I have been in contact with AppThemes about this issue. You see what happens is that WordPress itself expects all themes to be hosted on the www.ads-software.com theme directory. So it’s checking and updating to this directory hosted version.

    AppThemes have said that they’ve added a check that should stop their version from checking the WordPress directory for updates. The easiest solution though is to just install the version of Vantage from AppThemes, then install it and using FTP to rename the vantage folder in wp-content/themes/ to appthemes-vantage. This simple step will stop it from checking the www.ads-software.com directory for updates.

    Again, sorry about the issues. I know it must be frustrating, but this behavior is outside our control. It’s a core part of WordPress.
