hacked- better security?

I installed this plug-in on my site and the next day I had a redirect webaddress at the top of my site. It seemed to go away when I uninstalled the plug-in. Anyone have the same thing happen?
I like the plug-in, but not the hacking. Any suggestions for making this more secure?
