I have been getting hit by a hacker. He used two of my sites to dump out spam. This got me in trouble with Spamcannibal and was a real pain to clean. I think (hope) I got everything cleaned and I turned off my email server to boot. Still every 15 minutes he tries to hit me twice quickly. After I discovered I had been hacked I cleaned my site and installed Bulletproof Security and temporarily removed broken link checker. Hacker is going for wp-content/plugins/broken-link-checker/mysql.php so a word to the wise. So the silver lining to this cloud was I reversed-engineered some of the files and tricks used. They are very ingenious. If you are using this plugin check for this file. IT DOES NOT BELONG TO THE PLUGIN!! And if, like me, you find this file and are curious, open it in an editor and see if you can figure out what they are trying to do… (Hint: base 64 decode)
