    Hello all ??

    I have a problem ??
I’ve had to move host & domain and my blog has gone – I couldn’t grab the WordPress export file but I did manage to download the wrdp1.sql.gz

I have created a new WP blog (with the same directory name as the old host) and tried to import the wrdp1.sql.gz but it’s still trying to resolve to the old domain and host ??

I know that at some point in the past I’ve done the same thing and imported the wrdp1.sql.gz via phpMyAdmin to restore everything… but that was on the same domain and just needed a change of host. I don’t know where to change the blog URL and obviously can’t login to wp-admin.

The database is fine and intact ??

All I see when I try to view the blog is (a 404) as an attempt to connect to old domain and directory.

Please help – how can I easily modify the blog to change the URL so that my blog displays.

    Many thanks in advance! ??

  • I’m having the same issue.
I restored my database to a new server with a different host name, and it keeps redirecting back to the old server host.
I think it has something to do with Permalink settings, but I’m not sure.

Did you get this resolved Egyptian? If so how?
