Hanni has not mentioned it is validating for strict . Congratulations.

I got mine to validate. Once. Then I posted a couple of things and checked it again. I’m no expert, but all the new errors (and there are now a bunch) appear in code that was generated by WP.
So, for grins I validated some other sites. The results made me feel much better.

To my knowledge WP does not produce any invalid code at all.

See what I mean? I put in the codes, but they weren’t interpreted as I had intended because of what I did incorrectly.
Nothing like making your own mistake to emphasize a point.

i use a plugin to stop wp from adding the p tags

I was very excited when I first got it to validate- even though at the time I had no idea what it meant.
I’ve since achieved strict for all the pages
