Half of site not showing

  • Hi all – sorry bit of a novice here. I run a talent agency and recently (last couple of weeks maybe) the website in the admin part shows all is great and normal. For anyone else logging in though they only get half of the landing page and the links don’t work.
    I have been in touch with the hosting site and already done all the updates, checked health, deleted cache and also restored the site back by 2 weeks – I cant seem to go back further.
    I have got the landing page to show its under maintenance but am really stumped now why it shows fine in admin but not for anyone else?
    Any help very much appreciated – as I said I am a novice so don’t know coding. I am currently using WordPress 6:00 running the Antreas theme

  • Hey Tracy,

    I am no expert either but I would start by looking at the plugins to see if disabling one of them fixes the issue.

    I assume you also have a dev environment and not just production? If so, I would test out some other themes to make sure it is not an issue with the Antreas theme that you are using.

    Hi Ryan – thanks for replying I will try disabling the plug ins but sorry what do you mean? I assume you also have a dev environment and not just production?

    What is meant by this is that you should have a development web for testing plugin and theme update in addition to your live web. Then such problems would be noticed in the live web page before you make them there.

    About your problem:
    Unfortunately I can’t see what you mean because of the maintenance page. My guess is that a server error is causing the page to be only half delivered. Have you ever taken a look at the error log of your hosting to see if something shows up there?

    Or as already mentioned above, deactivate all plugins and change the theme to check if something is responsible for the view.

    THANKS ALL – I have updated everything and debugged etc and FC seems to be working okay today – didnt work in Twenty Twenty so wasnt the theme so who knows – currently lug ins still unplugged so will see
