When I enforce 2fa, setup using QR, and then start typing in the code, the screen goes black. I have to hit escape to show the form again. I wish I had recorded it so I can show you, but thats the best I can explain. Not sure why its happening.

    Hello themj,

I am sorry to hear about this experience using our plugin..

It sounds like there’s an unusual interaction or conflict causing this issue, as it’s something we have never heard or seen of before. I have a few questions to help diagnose the problem:

    1. To clarify, are you seeing the “black screen” when entering the code from the authenticator app while configuring 2FA via TOTP? Does this also happen when configuring HOTP (code via email)? Can you complete the 2FA configuration for your account?
    2. Is this issue occurring with a new WP 2FA plugin installation, or did it start after an update?
    3. Can you consistently reproduce this issue, or was it a one-time occurrence? If possible, could you try reproducing it in an incognito window to avoid any cache issues? A video recording of this happening in real time, along with any browser console errors, would be very helpful.
    4. If you uninstall the plugin (ensure “Remove data upon uninstall” is activated in Settings), and then reinstall it, does the issue persist? This can help determine if a corrupted installation is the cause.

If you have a staging site, try disabling the current active theme and switching to a default one to see if the issue still occurs. Further on, try disabling all the plugins except for WP 2FA, and while re-enabling them one by one, check when the problems start to happen again. This can help identify if the theme or a certain plugin is causing this weird interaction.

Please provide as many details as possible so we can continue troubleshooting this together.

    Thank you.
