after long during building a customized storefront-shop astonished suddenly found out that at the storefront-handheld-footer-bar there will no more pop-up the searchfield for the site-product-search above …

to examine that, i switched to the parent Storefront theme and disabled all plugins except for WooCommerce.

and after following testings on my PC, Mac & android-tablet found out: it’s just a thing about browsers – especially on android

does anyone know some corrective actions?
    thanks!

configuration – wp & woocommerce & all plugins uptodate!

  • Hi @aundc,

Do you mean that some browsers don’t pop-up the Search bar in the handheld footer?

I tested this on my Android phone and I was able to see the search menu pop-up.

If you disable all plugins and just have the parent Storefront theme active, do you still see the same issue? What version of Storefront are you on?

    hi Mikey,

    thanks a lot.

yes, that’s the problem, some browsers don’t pop-up the Search bar.
i’m limited to Android 4.x.x just now, its own browser & the recent chrome do fail.

will test if same with original storefront theme (newest already!) & plugins off.

    cheers

PS: have shut off this search-button meanwhile through function and replaced with “home”-button; but this doesn’t call the shop but the website-home page. so that’s not the real solution so far …

    Hi @aundc,

Sounds good! Let us know if you still have the same issue with the original storefront and all other plugins turned off! If you do get the same problem, could you create a new site with the issue so we can take a look?
