Handing Over The Admin Logon

  • Running 2.9 now.

    I need to hand over the admin logon to the actual owner of the blog. They have their own logon that has admin privileges, but I want them to own the actual Admin logon.

    The problem occurs when I put their email in as the address in the Admin profile. The error is “This email is already registered, please choose another one.”

    I don’t want to delete their user, because it will delete all of their posts also. Does anyone know how to do this?

  • You can delete the old account and during the delete process you will be prompted to move the post to a new user. Or you can change the email address of their admin account to a different email and put the correct email address in for the site admin.
