For some reason, I cannot copy the wp-includes folder over to my domain via FTP. I’m sending it to the main directory (public_html). The other folders copy over just fine, but the wp-includes folder gives me the same error:

FTP Folder error: There was a problem copying over a file (it never specifies which). It goes on to say that there was a problem with a handle and that it may be a permissions error.

I can’t imagine it is. One, I’m using the admin FTP account. Two, I can upload anything else in the world just fine. Three, I just nuked my server and everything’s back to the absolute defaults. The MySQL database is created, the user for that database is created, but for the life of me, I just cannot copy over the files! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Figured it out on my own, albeit by accident.

For no immediately apparent reason, I decided to try uploading the files again by way of UnlimitedFTP (Hostmonster is my host). About halfway through the upload, Windows Firewall popped up, telling me it was blocking something. I didn’t really glance at what it was, instead opting to click unblock.

The copy and install worked perfectly.

Therefore, the problem either was with my FTP client (which I doubt) or something Windows Firewall was blocking for some inadequately explained reason…so if anyone else has a similar problem to what I’m having, hopefully this helps you out.
