    My client has four different applicable handling rates, each of which are ‘in play’ regardless of the shipping method selected as they’re determined by the product itself (be it merchandise, frozen food, cookie tins, etc).

    I can see where you add a price adjustment based on the shipping method, but that doesn’t allow for me to let the product being purchased determine the handling.

    What am I missing?

    Your requirement is to show the shipping rates based on the category of the products/items added to the cart. Please correct if I am wrong. In this case, a flat rate solution will be more suitable for you. Please checkout below link.

    I need the handling to append to the shipping. Handling is the variable – there are four different handling rates.

    How do I enable this while keeping the UPS shipping features?

    Basically I need this:

    Handling rates for 4 different types of products. The fees based on each item int he cart are then appended to the Shipping cost to create a Shipping & Handling total.

    I can either add the handling rate at the product level, or assign a product to a handling or shipping class, but what cannot happen is anything that disables the UPS shipping calculation. It has to append to the cart total, not replace shipping. That’s where I’m not sure a ‘flat rate’ is appropriate.

    I added some rates in the rate matrix in Country/Weight area, but that only creates a dropdown in the checkout page.

    Hi cantonjester,
    Shipping Class is not supported by UPS plugin as of now. So, To add handling rates for specific products, only way is to adjust the product price.
