• Hi,

I want to start using Groups to limit product availability in Woocommerce based on users group membership. This is quite easy and works out-of-the-box.

But, I also need to limit non-logged in users (guests) only to see all products from a specific group.

Is there any way or workaround where I can assign guests temporarily to a group, even if they are not logged in?

    Best regards,
    Nicolai

  • Hey Nicolai,

Thanks for choosing Groups to limit access to WC products.

Regarding guests and since Groups is capable of limiting access only to users, you can keep this category’s products without any access restrictions set, making it publicly available to everyone.
The rest of your products in the meantime should of course be limited to the respective groups you wish to give access to.

    Hope it helps.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

But my issue is the other way around. I want all products to be available to guests but only selected products (a small part of all products) available to logged in users.

So I want to put no restrictions on guests – but put product availability restrictions on logged in users.

    Example:

    A guest can see:
Product A priced at 10 USD
Product B priced at 20 USD

Product X priced at 60 USD

A specific logged in user should only see:
Product A priced at 7 USD
Product X priced at 45 USD

But not all products from B to Y..

    Best regards
    Nicolai

    Hey Nicolai,

FYI, in order to show any/all products to guests these products should not be restricted to a group, but on the same time if a product is not restricted then it will be publicly accessible to everyone.
This use case would require additional features to exist in Groups plugin, ie restrict a product to everyone but these groups, so that everyone has access apart from the defined groups.
Let me take a note and look into this further, on how it can be implemented and included in one of the future versions of the plugin.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi,

    Perfect.

I would be happy to support such a development financially.

    Best regards
