Happy to see a new version
-
After using the older Postman for well over a year, it was nice to see this project rejuvenated. It still works great for SMTP and Google Gmail API.
If Google will stop making small changes, this plugin will continue to work flawlessly. The biggest hassle is Google’s “insecure app” restrictions which includes any stand alone email client or web app that saves passwords.
There is a small bit of misinformation on the post-smtp page. If you are using Google Apps/G Suite, you CAN enable the “less secure apps” function. You have to enable it in the Apps Admin dashboard before it will appear in the Google user account.
The second hurdle came from one of the last Gmail API updates. Google disables the saved Oauth API project if the Google account password is changed. The entire point of using API was to avoid issues with passwords.
After a couple adjustments in the Google account, this plugin starts working perfectly again.
