Hard-add a plugin's code, outside of a widget window ?

    Hello,

    I’ve been asked to integrate a few plugins (like a tag cloud) on an old wordpress theme, that was written without support for widgets.

    And those plugins only come as widgets, as one could expect.

    Rather than asking plugin-specific questions, I think I’d rather make it a generic question : PLEASE, would you know how to integrate a plugin’s “material” to a template, as if it came from that plugin’s widget ?

    I searched Google, the Codex, and found no results; either this is impossible, or I didn’t use the proper search terms ??

    there is the possiblity to widgetize the theme (which would have the advantage that the client can later use any widgets themselves; including any widget options which might come with each widget):

    I briefly considered the option in the past, but then the thoughts that I didn’t do that before, that it would add a change that wasn’t specifically asked for, and that it might, perhaps, have an impact in term of server resources, kept me away from this for the moment, haha.

    I tested, just in case, and, surprisingly, past ten minutes facing my usual kind of CSS nightmare (“why the hell doesn’t the widget locate itself inside the sidebar on the right, why does it place itself in the upper-left”, sigh), it eventually worked, I could make a widgetized part blend with a non-widgetized part ??

    I’ll see if there isn’t, later on, a reply explaining how to do without widgets, and if there isn’t, I’ll go that way.
