Has anyone confirmed 2.5 is faster?

  • I have a production site that has 25 or so plugins right now and I’d like to try to speed it up a little bit, but so far I’m not convinced 2.5 is really any faster than 2.3.3.

    I have some lower-traffic sites that I’ve run website optimization tools on and they are nearly identical load speeds after the 2.5 upgrade as they were from 2.3.3. I am very nervous to upgrade my flagship site if I at least dont have a compelling reason to. I dont particularly like the 2.5 admin interface anyway.

  • admin stuff works faster, but i dunno about the front end so much…

    you’re probably going to want to make sure the 25 or so plugins work with 2.5 (or you can find replacements) before upgrading imo

    I haven’t actually done any benchmarking but the backend for me seems faster.
