Has anyone seen Root around?

Someone could write a letter to the address provided by WHOIS.
If anything happened to him, there is most likely someone checking his mail and can notify us.
Not a big fan of him (for reasons I do not want to get into), but under these circumstances I hope everything is ok with him.

macmanx thanks for you concern but unless you can actually provide a better idea than ‘let’s do something’ it’s obvious you think we should mind our own business and blah blah, see where I’m from that’s pretty cold and shows no sense of community, and to be honest you’re part of a community by posting here and regular basis, and ultimately I’d like to think that the wordpress community actually tries if nothing else to look after each other; even when it has nothing to do with coding.
If we can’t contact him fine, but hey at least it’s a try.

khaled, I know what you mean. And believe me, if I was a friend of Root, I would try hard. I just come from a community where if people disappear, then they want to be alone. Of course, they usually say so too. I just think that now we’re starting to dig a bit too far here, that’s all. Sorry, carry on.

It’s sad people can’t put the Kubrick thing aside even when lives might be at stake. I never had much time for Root either but that doesn’t stop me hoping he’s ok and his friends manage to get in touch.

Originaly I wasn’t going to talk about this, until I read mac’s post. Your position is understandable (I’ve been there a number of times) and makes sense. People do that from time to time.
However, I am a member of another board where someone dropped off in a similar fasion. None of us suspected that anything was wrong with the guy untill it was too late. His best friend had the misfortune to be the one to find the body. None of us ever suspected that he was suicidal, but that’s the danger of on-line communities, you can easily put up a good front while battling the demons that no one ever sees. The only reason we found was that his friend was siftin through his effects and she found his emails from the site, so she contacted us.
I wish that at least one of us knew him in person, well enough so that we could find out for sure if he’s OK. Unfortunately, with out any information one way or the other, all we’ve got is rumor, innuendo, and gossip. I sincerly hope that Root is fine, and that mac is right, that he simply wanted/needed to get away.
I think it’s time to let this go, if some one wants to try to contact him one way or the other to see what’s going on, let that person speak, and let that be that.
Until such time that we know, let’s keep the suspicions and theories to ourselves. Sit on your hands, and let’s let this thread die for now.
